Significance of Tanzania's National Flag
The National flag of Tanzania Comprises of diagonal strips of green, yellow, black and blue. This flag was certified on June 30th of 1964. The Tanzanian flag was originated using the flags of Tanganyika and Zanzibar as they merged together to form Tanzania in April of 1964. Tanganyika’s flag was green with a black horizontal stripe outlined in yellow through the middle and the flag of Zanzibar was horizontal stripes with the colours of blue, black and green. When Tanzania was formed they chose to design the flag so that it incorporated a part of each flag, the diagonal design of the black stripe in the middle was used to show the equal status of both flags.

The colours of the Tanzanian flag represent as follows, green is represented throughout the flag as a dedication to their natural resources it also symbolises agriculture and fertility of the Tanzania, yellow is comprised to remind the people of the vast mineral resources found within the country, black to represent the many people of the country who come together united as one and blue is used to represent the vast amounts of water bodies presented around Tanzania including the Indian ocean and the many rivers, lakes and streams within its borders.
